How do you feel? This is an important question to ask as you move towards living your best life and feeling good in the skin that you are in while you do it.
Feeling good can be a conscious decision. There are many ways to have a good time and place a smile on your face. Ask yourself what is on the agenda today, and do just that. Are you going to go for a walk, do your hair, take a long bath, go to the movies, cook a nice dinner, or hang out with friends? You are the most important person in your life, treat yourself as such.
Placing yourself in moments and with people that make you feel good should be done both for the sake of mental health and for the pure enjoyment of living a happy, fulfilled life. If it’s a safe and healthy way to make you smile, I say go for it, and put your best foot forward while doing so.
In the process of enjoying your own life, you might be tempted to compare your journey to those of others. This is a recipe for disaster. If you do find that you are comparing yourself to others, rather than being inspired by them, shift your thoughts immediately and focus on what you can do and what you want to do better, personally. You are your own competition. Run your own race. When you become your own foundation, it is amazing how much joy you let in.
